Another birthday has arrived and this time Sapir's, birthday. She invited us to celebration at a restaurant I had not been to for several years, Emesh, by Chef Kfir Yenin. I celebrated a birthday there 3 years ago if I am not wrong, and it was stunning.
We were supposed to arrive at noon, and then an unexpected mishap occurred, as usual, and we arrived at the end towards evening. 7 girls who love fun and good vibes. So, it was perfect, because fun is always there when we are at the table, and we got the good vibes in the light courtyard of the restaurant. A bottle and a half of wine launched us all, some chasers added a significant extension to the mood and in total we could not have asked for more than that. So, before I dive in, if you have a celebration and you want good vibes and nice food to share, Emesh is the place.
The food part, the most important part for me at least, we started with Arancini mushrooms and mozzarella (45 NIS), 3 pieces of crispy risotto balls and pesto aioli. In general, I am less connected to Arancini wherever I go. At Emesh it was nice and reassured me from the hunger that had been waiting for him since noon. #yammmmm
Brioche with garlic butter and mozzarella, along with fresh cream and spicy (NIS 38), which, as expected, came soft and fluffy with cheese that stretches just like in the movies. A great opening that suited for sharing. #yammmmm
Tuna Tartare (71 NIS) with chopped herb and onions, cucumber, chili, eggplant tahini, and yogurt stone. A dish with smoky eggplant flavors, not a dish that surprised me, a dish that was pleasant to eat, but there comes a point where tuna tartare must be very revolutionary for me to feel like I got interested in such a common fish dish. It was also nice to get a little more freshness. #yammmmm
Crispy Cauliflower (49 NIS), with yoghurt, roasted almonds, delicate green garlic vinaigrette and kalamata. On a normal day I would not order a dish of cauliflower, because it is a dish I like to eat at home, and among the only things I know how to prepare. But I had an unexplained urge to eat cauliflower, so we ordered the dish and it was relatively simple as expected. Also, it was nice to get it softer and with more sauce, because it's all the fun, dipping the cauliflower in a delicious cheese dip. #yammmmm
Crispy Lettuce (67 NIS), with homemade Caesar, parmesan, soft-boiled egg, purple onion, and brioche croutons. A salad that had a nice success at the table, and it's impressive because first it's a salad, and in general I expected it to be heavy but instead we got a delicious, light, and perfect dish to share. The egg may have been a bit cold, but other than that it was great. #yammmmm
Fettuccine "Cacho e Pepe" (72 NIS), organic egg yolk fettuccine, black pepper, parmesan stock and pokerino. A dish I remember more from the reality show the chef's games, when at the audition stage they presented the judges with a dish of Cacho e pepe, and they flew over it and described how much this simplicity is a wow. Since then, I have been waiting to taste it too, and here it finally happened at Emesh. Pasta with a special taste that and such that every bite of it makes you think what I am eating here and then take another bite in the hope that this time we will understand. Liked it. #yammmmm
Mushroom Gnocchi (NIS 76), homemade mushroom gnocchi, deep porcini spindle butter, a collection of mushrooms roasted in butter, thyme, and garlic. A relatively standard dish, so no complaints. A safe dish to order, good for distribution and one that works great in the mouth. I would have liked a little more smoothness in the gnocchi, but yes it was delicious. #yammmmm
Sweet Potato Tortillas (76 NIS), with white sweet potato cream, and caramelized Bushe cheese. Wow wow wow, I still imagine this dish at nights, thinking about how it comes to me with shimmering Bushe cheese and sweet potato caresses and makes me feel yam in my stomach. The best dish in this meal, and a real, ingenious dish. I'm sick of Bushe cheese, but I did not know how delicious it could be to combine it with the insane softness of sweet potatoes and tortillas made in dreams. #yammmmm
Ravioli Stuffed with Chard with lemon ricotta and a little Pinchas cheese, in a sauce of butter, wine, garlic, sage and over some tomato cream and parmesan. Ravioli that is made superbly, and a lemon filling that always works for me. #yammmmm
Yes, it's true, we exploded, and that's exactly the moment to move on to desserts.
Bread Pudding (49 NIS), hot brioche in concentrated milk sauce and spices, milk jam and nut crumble. The bread itself came hot and was accompanied by cool ice cream. It was a little hard to cut it and get a bite but when we did it was a nice ending to the meal. #yammmmm
Magnum Cremino (49 NIS), Chocolate Twill, Nut Crunch and Chocolate. A dessert that I am more connected to with layers that provide the variety of textures we needed and the chocolate flavor that I prefer more in desserts. #yammmmm
It's a #yammmmm
